Edo: College of Agriculture Commences Recruitment

Edo State Government on Monday commenced the recruitment of staff for the restructured Edo State College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, with three campuses in Iguoriakhi, Agenebode and Uromi, ahead of the institution’s takeoff.

Permanent Secretary, Edo State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Dr. Godwin Okonofua, in a statement, called on qualified candidates to apply to fill vacant positions as principal officers, academic and non-teaching staff in the College.

He said the exercise was in line with the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration’s commitment to place the school as a foremost agricultural college in Nigeria. Thus, purpose-built to provide critical manpower and expertise to strengthen its revolutionary direction in agriculture.

According to Okonofua, “The Edo State Colleges of Agriculture (Iguoriakhi) and Agricultural Technology (Agenebode) had by restructuring metamorphosed to one unique College of Agriculture and Natural Resources with expanded, widened and deepened scope of academic, training, research and integrated extension services.

‘‘The new College has three schools, namely: School of Agricultural Technology and Engineering at Iguoriakhi, which doubles as the main campus and administrative headquarters of the College. School of Aquaculture and Marine Technology, located at Agenebode and the School of Forestry and Environmental Technology being located at Uromi.

“Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacancy: Principal Officer, Academic and Non-Teaching positions in the College.
