The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, has summoned the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) to an emergency meeting.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Director, Press and Public Relations, Ben Bem Goong on Monday April 5, 2021.
According to the statement, the meeting was called, following the threat by the Union to embark on strike.
“The emergency meeting is to hold tomorrow, the 6th of April 2021 at 11:00 am in the Ministry’s Headquarters in Abuja,” the statement read.
The minister said the meeting is intended to prevent the planned strike.
It will be recalled that ASUP has issued a notice of strike over what the union has described as the refusal of government to implement some of the agreements entered into with the federal government.
