Lagos Education District II Rewards Outstanding Staff

Lagos State Education District II has rewarded some of its staff for their outstanding performance in the discharge of their duties.

Speaking at the event tagged “Soaring Higher”, the Lagos State Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary Education District II, Mrs. Anike Adekanye, stated that the event was organised to motivate staff and students of the schools that had consistently displayed excellent attributes in the discharge of their duties, as well as to acknowledge their various outstanding achievements.

Adekanye noted that the award ceremony aligns with the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to reward high flying officers identified in the system.

She recalled that a staff member of the district, Mrs. Iyabo Agnes Elusakin, had in 2019 emerged as the overall Best Teacher in Nigeria and was presented with a Hyundai Sonata car among other several sterling performances of the District since she assumed office as the TG/PS.

She commended the Principals, Vice Principals and diligent staff of the district for their dedication towards achieving greater heights, while also creating a distinct path for academic and sports excellence in the 2020/2021 academic session.

At the event, which also featured the presentation of awards and prizes to teaching and non-teaching staff of the district, the Principal, Lagos State Senior Model College Igbokuta, Mr. Olusegun Hameed Lawal emerged the Best Principal in the Senior Category, while the Principal of Oriwu Junior Model College, Mrs. Folasade Rabiat Alimi was also rewarded for emerging the Best Principal in the Junior category.

The award for Best Teacher, Senior Category went to Mrs. Busayo Adeyemo from Lanre Awolokun Senior School, Gbagada, while Mrs. Omotola Osundeko from St. Luke’s Junior Grammar School, Bariga won the Best Teacher Junior category among others.

The Vice-Principal of Shomolu Senior High School, Mr. Tajudeen Olaniyi Oni, won the Star Prize by winning the raffle draw at the Merit Award ceremony held at the Indoor Hall of Gbagada Comprehensive Junior High School, Gbagada phase 1.

The winner of the Raffle Draw went home with a Toyota Camry while others also received different gift items.
