Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has appointed former VC of Obafemi Awolowo University, Professor Bamitale Omole, as the head of the visitation panel set up to address the crisis in the appointment of the Vice Chancellor of the Lagos State University, LASU.
While disclosing this on Wednesday March 31, 2021, the governor stated that the panel has been tasked to bring “an end to the lingering crisis in the appointment of a new Vice Chancellor of the Lagos State University”.

In his words, “I set up a Visitation Panel that will be led by Professor Bamitale Omole, former VC of Obafemi Awolowo University to ensure fairness and transparency in the selection of a new VC for the State University.”
He added, “In the same vein, I inaugurated the Boards of the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) and Lagos State Market Advisory Council to be led by Mrs. Funmilola Falana and Mrs. Folasade Tinubu-Ojo respectively.
“I urged the Board members to use their positions to serve the interest of the people of this great State.”
