The pupils highlighted what the Nigerian local industries and farmers have benefitted so far since 21st August, 2019, when the land borders were closed. They also cited examples like China and some countries who have transformed and developed their countries through border closure.

On the other hand, pupils who spoke against the border closure were emotional as they created empathic feeling for the neighbouring countries who should be enjoying from Nigeria as big brother but being maltreated and oppressed against the rules of ECOWAS.
