WAEC Addresses Issues of WASSCE 2020, Appeals for PPE

The Head of the Nigeria National Office of WAEC, Mr. Patrick Areghan addressed a Press Conference on the conduct of the WASSCE for School Candidates, 2020.

The address was made today, Tuesday July 7, 2020.

Areghan said the examination would hold between August 3 and September 5. And also run through Monday to Saturday to enable them meet up with the 5 weeks period slated for the exam.

He noted that a total of 1,549,463 candidates registered for the exam. Hence, there would be need for more invigilators and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Areghan, thereby called on the government, organizations to donate PPEs to the body.

He also urged the candidates and schools to shun any act of malpractice and encouraged them to prepare adequately.

“These are not normal times. This examination is going to be conducted under an unfriendly atmosphere and conditions. I will like to use this opportunity to advise all candidates and all schools to make the best use of the situation in order to turn adversity to success,” he said.

He said the final international examination time table has been sent to all the WAEC zonal and branch offices, so as to enhance onward dispatch to schools, federal amd state ministries of education.
