1. Aso Rock is a large outcrop of granitic rock located on the outskirts of Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.

2. The Aso Rock is a 400-metre (1,300 ft) prominent monolith with a peak height of 936-metre (3,071 ft) above sea level..

3. There are a couple of local priests that look after the rock and it?s often said that to climb or enter any of the caves, you would need to take permission from the priests.

4. Aso Rock houses The Nigerian Presidential Complex, Nigerian National Assembly, and Nigerian Supreme Court. Much of the city extends to the south of the rock.

5. The name “Aso” comes from the Gwari language, meaning “victorious.” The Gwari people are the original inhabitants of the area, and the rock holds a significant place in their history and traditions
