10 facts about Osun poly you need to know

1. Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, was established as a Satellite Campus of the Polytechnic, Ibadan in 1981.

2. It was established in October 1992 by the Osun State Government. It was part of the state government’s effort.

3. The polytechnic is located in Iree, a town in Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State. The serene and conducive environment of the town provides a perfect setting for academic activities.

4. The law establishing the Institution was signed by the First Executive Governor of the State, Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke.

5. The Polytechnic was established to produce middle level man-power, particularly in the fields of Science, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Information and Communication Technology, Management and Financial Studies.

6. The Institution initially commenced with eight (08) programmes at Pre-ND, ND and HND levels.

7. Osun State Polytechnic Iree also has Daily Part Time Program (DPT) which is located at Koko campus.

8. The polytechnic has an entrepreneurship with it’s school of vocational and technical education established in 2011.

9. Osun State Polytechnic, Iree is popularly known as OSPOLY.

10. The current rector is Mr. Kehinde Adeyemi Alabi.
