1. Federal University Dutse was established in February 2011.
2. FUD is located in Dutse, the capital city of Jigawa State in North-Western Nigeria. The campus is strategically sited along the Dutse-Kiyawa Road, offering accessibility to students across the state and neighbouring regions such as Kano, Bauchi, and Katsina.
3. The university started with three faculties and has since expanded to accommodate many fields, from traditional sciences and humanities to emerging fields like computer science and biotechnology.

Federal University Dutse is one of the federal universities where competition for admission is becoming increasingly stiff. According to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the university has seen a steady increase in the number of first-choice applicants each year, especially for science-related and health courses.
7. The minimum UTME cut-off mark varies per course but typically ranges from 160 to 220 depending on competitiveness.
8. Mostly, all programmes offered by FUD are accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
9. FUD has shown early promise in research and innovation. It is home to various research centres such as: Centre for Social and Economic Research, Centre for Climate Change Studies, and Entrepreneurship Development Centre
10. FUD is currently led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed. He was appointed in 2021.
