1. Federal University Dutse was established in February 2011.

2. FUD is located in Dutse, the capital city of Jigawa State in North-Western Nigeria. The campus is strategically sited along the Dutse-Kiyawa Road, offering accessibility to students across the state and neighbouring regions such as Kano, Bauchi, and Katsina.

3. The university started with three faculties and has since expanded to accommodate many fields, from traditional sciences and humanities to emerging fields like computer science and biotechnology.

4. The Federal University, Dutse (FUD) held its first convocation ceremony on January 16, 2016.
