The Nigerian Army has commenced the 2025 Lieutenant to Captain Practical Promotion Examination, with 208 officers participating in the week-long assessment in Kaduna.
The examination, organized by the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), aims to evaluate officers’ proficiency in key military skills. Lieutenant General Kevin Aligbe, TRADOC Commander, urged candidates to stay focused and approach the test with confidence, emphasizing that the assessment is a crucial step in their careers.
“The examination aims to evaluate the officers’ proficiency in various aspects of the military profession, including command ability, tactical employment, and physical fitness,” Aligbe stated.
Candidates will be tested in several areas, including tactics and low-intensity conflicts, map reading, communication, arms proficiency, driving and maintenance, field administration, and physical fitness. Additionally, a French language test is included to assess linguistic competence.
To ensure fairness and integrity, the army has implemented strict security measures, including video surveillance and monitoring by experienced officers.
The results of the promotion examination will play a significant role in determining the career progression of the participating officers.
