A 48-year-old teacher identified as Mr Ezekiel Akano was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside one of the classrooms at King’s College, Lagos Island.

According to police sources, the incident happened on Saturday evening and was reported to the Lagos State Police Command around 7:40 p.m. by the school’s Vice Principal, Mr Oguniyi Ayodele.

He explained that staff members raised an alarm after finding Akano’s body within the school premises at No. 3, Catholic Mission Street.

A team of detectives immediately visited the scene, secured the area, and conducted a preliminary examination. Photographs were taken, and initial observations indicated there were no visible injuries or signs of foul play on the deceased.

The late Mr Akano, who hailed from Oyo State, was subsequently taken to Lagos Island Hospital, Odan, where a medical doctor pronounced him dead on arrival.

His remains have been deposited in the hospital morgue for preservation and an autopsy to ascertain the exact cause of death.

The police have assured the public that a comprehensive investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
