The learning materials are to aid particularly indigent pupils and students of primary and secondary school levels.

The educational materials included books and several writing materials donated to pupils of Methodist Church Ikot Omin and students of Susana Wesley Secondary School, Atamunu in Calabar.

Distributing the educational materials to pupils and students of Ikot Omin Methodist Church, 8 Miles in Calabar, and Diocese Of Atamunu Methodist Church otherwise known as Cathedral of Favour, the beneficiaries were urged to take thier studies seriously so that they can excel in their academic pursuits and come out in flying colours.

“I see great potentials in you people. In this midst, I see a lot of you who are growing up to become engineers, lawyers and doctors.

“I see civil and computer engineers among you pupils. I charge you all to be serious with your academic work. Desist from telling lies, obey your parents and teachers if you want your dreams to be actualised.

“Tell your friends to be enrolled in Susana Wesley Schools. I urge to be hardworking so that you can aspire to have eight degrees just like I have.

“Let me make it clear to you that if you read hard with good behaviour, and attain higher education, the good things of life, which you so desire can be achievable without hitch,” the Bishop told the beneficiaries.

Speaking on behalf of the schools, head teacher of Susana Wesley Schools, Mrs. Hodo Ofem, excited pupils and students of the schools expressed their gratitude for the educational materials donated to them by Bishop Otuekong, and prayed God to keep the him alive.

This has never happened before, that a Bishop would visit us, to see how we are faring and encourage us with gifts that would boost learning. We are indeed so grateful,” said the head teacher.

While describing Bishop Otuekong as “a schoolar, philanthropist, and lover of education” who once he enters a place things turn around, the Synod Secretary, Very Rev. Anthony Essien, said with the materials, the sky remains the limit of the pupils and students.
