In a celebration of academic excellence and promising leadership, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu welcomed Abdulazeez Abdulrahmon, a student from Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu, to the Lagos House, Marina.
Abdulazeez earned the prestigious title of One Day Governor after emerging as the Overall Winner of the 20th Edition of the Spelling Bee Competition.
Accompanying Abdulazeez were Oki Sewanu, the One Day Deputy Governor and a student from Ansar-Ud-Deen Senior Grammar School in Badagry, and Saheed Alimot-Odere, the One Day Secretary to the State Government, from Jubilee Model Senior Grammar School, Coker Aguda.
Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed his delight in hosting these young achievers, stating, “Today, I had the pleasure of receiving a student of Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu, Abdulazeez Abdulrahmon, the One Day Governor and Overall Winner of the 20th Edition of the Spelling Bee Competition, at Lagos House, Marina.”
He further emphasized the significance of educational competitions in shaping the future leaders of the state, remarking,” This experience not only showcased the talents of these outstanding students but also emphasized the importance of educational competitions in nurturing the potential of our young minds.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu confidently highlighted the potential of these young leaders, saying, “These are the next generation of leaders, and I am confident that with continued support and encouragement, they will achieve great things and lead us toward a brighter future.”
The event underscored the state government’s commitment to fostering an environment where education and leadership development are priorities, ensuring a promising future for the youth of Lagos.
