The Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has officially announced the closure of its 2024/2025 undergraduate admissions process, urging the public to disregard fraudulent messages circulating on social media or through personal contacts.
In a statement issued by the Acting Director of University Relations, Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, the institution confirmed that all admission-related activities for the academic year have been finalized, and academic sessions are already underway.
“The management of KWASU hereby urges the public to disregard messages by faceless persons on social media or sent to them personally, asking candidates still seeking admission into the institution to go to a location for assistance,” the statement read.
Dr. Aliyu emphasized that such messages do not originate from the university. “There is no directive of this nature from the management, and the public is warned to beware of unscrupulous individuals who would prey on their needs,” she added.
The university reiterated its commitment to transparency and encouraged the public to rely solely on its official communication channels for credible information. “The public should also note that the university utilizes official mediums and signed statements by officers of the institution to disseminate information to the public,” the statement concluded.
This announcement serves as a precautionary measure to protect prospective students and their families from falling victim to admission-related scams, which have become prevalent during university admission periods.
KWASU management assured that it remains focused on maintaining its standards and providing quality education.
