The University of Lagos Alumni Association will mark its 55th anniversary with a public lecture to be delivered by Mr Mutiu Sunmonu, former Country Chair of Shell Petroleum Development Company and Chairman of Julius Berger Plc.
The event, scheduled for Tuesday, December 3, 2024, will be held at the J. F. Ade-Ajayi Hall, University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos, starting at 11 a.m.
Sunmonu will deliver a lecture on the topic, “Nation Building in a Deregulated Economy: A Clarion Call for Citizens.”
According to a statement on Sunday by the association’s National Publicity Secretary, Funmi Falobi, the lecture will be chaired by the Chairman of Channels Media Group, Dr. John Momoh; while Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of UNILAG, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) , will be the special guest of honor.
The UNILAG Vice Chancellor, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, will host the event, with the President (Worldwide) of the Alumni Association, Engr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele, serving as the Chief Host.
The statement quoted the Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee, Mr. Lekan Ajisafe, as remarking that the anniversary lecture would bring together corporate leaders, industry experts, academics, top government officials, and alumni to discuss critical national issues.
“The lecture will analyse government policies, their implications for various sectors, and strategies to enhance business competitiveness. It will also explore the roles of both citizens and government in fostering economic growth and nation-building,” Ajisafe said.
