AAUA matriculates nearly 7000 students for 2022/2023 academic session

Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, AAUA, Ondo State, has matriculated six thousand nine hundred and fifty-seven (6,957) students for the 2022/2023 academic session.

The matriculation ceremony, held at the institution’s Olusegun Obasanjo Multipurpose Hall (OBJ), had in attendance dignitaries across all works of life.

The institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olugbenga Ige disclosed that 12,000 candidates applied for admission into AAUA for the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 admission exercise.

Professor Ige maintained that AAUA had zero tolerance for anti-social vices such as cultism, examination misconduct, drug abuse, sexual harassment, and indecent dressing among others.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, any students who violated the institution’s rules and regulations would be sanctioned.

“Let me also emphasise that our certificates are issued to students who have been found worthy in character and learning,” Ige added.

While congratulating the newly admitted students, Ige urged them to take their primary assignment (academic) pursuit seriously, adding that their level of commitment to academic work would determine the degree of their performance in examinations.

“Without mincing words, it is our solemn resolve to train and produce globally competitive graduates, strong in chamber and integrity. The University management has put in place machineries to make the environment conducive for learning.

“It is our expectation that you will take advantage of these provisions to enhance your learning in this university.”

Ige enjoined the newly matriculated students to follow due process in making their demands, stating that the university has a cordial relationship with the Student Union.

Sharing their excitement in an interview with Edugist, the newly matriculated students vowed to take their academics seriously to come out with flying colours.
