Abia govt suspends Onwe as college of education provost

The Abia State Government has announced the immediate suspension of Professor Vincent Onwe, Provost of the Abia State College of Education, Technical, Arochukwu.

In a statement signed by Ikechukwu Uwanna, the government appointed Dr. Abdulkarim Jibril, the current Deputy Provost, as the acting Provost.

Governor Alex Otti approved the suspension as part of efforts to promote transparency, accountability, and effective management within the institution. Dr. Jibril is expected to take charge immediately and oversee the day-to-day operations of the college until further notice.

The Abia State government urged all staff, students, and stakeholders of the college to fully cooperate with the acting Provost in the discharge of his duties, emphasizing the government’s commitment to good governance and integrity in managing public institutions.
