Abia State University students invent sweet garri-based dish

Innovation and hard work have paid off for a 21-year-old Nigerian student who has created a new culinary delight called “Garfait.”

Maureen Emenike, a 400 level student at Abia State University, combined garri, groundnut, sugar, milk, and various toppings to create the perfect parfait.

Her creation has captured the hearts and taste buds of many Nigerians.

How it started

In a surprising turn of events, a new delicacy has emerged from Abia State University, Uturu. A student, who initially created the dish as a gift for the President of Garri Association, the People’s Duke, has sparked a craze for “garri parfait” amongst the student body.

The dish is said to be a combination of garri, a popular West African food made from cassava, and a variety of toppings such as fruit, nuts, and chocolate. The creator, whose name is everywhere on sicial media have sparked reactions from users. The creator disclosed that she stumbled upon the idea while experimenting in the kitchen and was surprised by the positive reaction it received.

It wasn’t long before word spread, and other students began requesting their own portions of the dish. As demand grew, the student decided to start selling garri parfait, with prices starting at #500 per cup.

Since then, garri parfait has become the talk of the campus, with many students lining up to get their hands on the delicious treat. Some have even taken to social media to share their excitement, with one student writing, “Who would have thought that garri could be this amazing?”

The creator of garri parfait has expressed her delight at the response, saying that she never expected the dish to become so popular.They, at the garri association have also promised to continue experimenting with different flavors and toppings to keep things interesting.

As the garri parfait craze continues to sweep through Abia State University, it remains to be seen whether the dish will become a staple on menus across the state. Nonetheless, one thing is for sure – garri parfait is a unique and delicious addition to the world of West African cuisine.
