About 5k admission seekers jostle for 350 slots at Ogun nursing school

The Ogun State College of Nursing Sciences in Nigeria has conducted an entrance examination, with a total of 4,673 candidates vying for admission.

According to a report, only 350 successful candidates will be granted admission.

Kayode Oladehinde, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, disclosed this information while overseeing the examination process at the College’s School of Nursing and Midwifery in Abeokuta.

Oladehinde emphasized that the state government has prioritized a merit-based admission system in recent years.

“This approach has made the college more appealing to prospective candidates, whether they are from the state or outside,” he said.

He attributed this increased interest to the college’s commitment to an objective and transparent admission process.

Oladehinde also clarified that only candidates who successfully pass the computer-based examination and oral interview will be granted admission.

He highlighted that the era of preferential treatment or “man know man” admission practices is now a thing of the past.
