ABU revises academic calendar

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has officially adjusted its academic calendar for the 2023/2024 academic session.

This change was confirmed during the university 528th senate meeting, reflecting the need to accommodate the unforeseen delay.

Initially, the Second Semester Examinations were scheduled to begin on Monday, August 26, 2024, and conclude on Saturday, September 14, 2024. However, the curfew imposed by the Kaduna State Government during the nationwide protests resulted in a one-week interruption, necessitating a shift in the academic schedule.

The revised dates now see the Second Semester Examinations commencing on Monday, September 2, 2024, and concluding on Saturday, September 21, 2024.

This adjustment aims to ensure that students have adequate preparation time and that the academic integrity of the examination process is maintained.

The university management has urged Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments, staff, and students to make the necessary adjustments in their schedules to accommodate these changes.

The management assures that every effort is being made to minimize further disruptions and maintain the academic standards for which ABU is renowned.

Students and faculty members are encouraged to stay informed through official university communication channels for any further updates or instructions.

The university management expresses its gratitude for the cooperation and understanding of all stakeholders during this period of adjustment.
