ANCOPSS hails appointment of Idris as head of Almajiri Education Commission

The All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) has applauded the appointment of Muhammad Sani Idris as the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children’s Education, describing it as well-deserved.

During a courtesy visit by ANCOPSS members from Yobe State to Idris in Abuja, National President Alhaji Muhammad Ibn Musa expressed optimism that Idris’ wealth of experience would rejuvenate efforts to address the education of Almajiri and out-of-school children in Nigeria.

A statement from the Commission on Sunday highlighted Musa’s confidence that Idris would replicate his past successes, notably from his tenure as the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education in Yobe State.

Musa also extended gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for appointing someone with a proven track record.

Similarly, the Association of Qur’anic Memorizers and Traditional Islamic Schools of Nigeria visited Idris, with National Chairman Gwani Sulaiman Mai Zube Kabala pledging full cooperation to achieve the Commission’s mandate. Kabala emphasized that the Almajiri had long been neglected, particularly in education, and expressed hope for positive change under Idris’ leadership.

Idris thanked both associations for their support and pledged to work tirelessly to address the educational needs of Almajiri and out-of-school children across Nigeria, promising significant improvements in their educational opportunities.
