APPLY: 2024 OAS-UAGM scholarship opportunity

The OAS General Secretariat (GS/OAS), as the central and permanent organ of the Organization of American States (OAS), offers the 2024 OAS-UAGM Scholarship.

This initiative focuses on enhancing democratic values and improving living standards in the Americas by providing access to education and training.

Benefits:
The OAS-UAGM Scholarship covers 50% of the remaining tuition cost, along with application fees, housing costs, meal plans, round-trip airfare, health insurance fees, books and study materials, and visa fees. However, any additional fees not included in the scholarship must be borne by the student. Applicants may also explore the Rowe Fund for additional support.

Eligibility:
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be new candidates applying for the first time. The scholarship is not open to current OAS scholarship holders, citizens, or permanent residents of the United States, GS/OAS staff and their immediate relatives, GS/OAS consultants, or OAS Permanent officials and their immediate relatives. The selection criteria will consider the candidate’s academic and professional background, geographical distribution focusing on less developed economies, the potential impact of the candidate’s return to their home country, and gender diversity.

Application process:
To apply for the OAS-UAGM PAEC scholarship, candidates need to complete the application form available here . The application involves completing the UAGM admission process and submitting all required documentation. UAGM will evaluate candidates based on the set admission criteria. Only those who secure admission will be eligible for the scholarship consideration.
