The Africa Matters Initiative (AMI) has announced the opening of applications for the Her Environment, Her Future Program 2024.
It offers comprehensive training in leadership, personal development, climate education, policy engagement, advocacy, green and social entrepreneurship, and effective communication.
Benefits:
Participants will emerge from the program with a robust network of young women leaders and certificates of participation. They will gain a deep understanding of climate justice and advocacy, equipping them with the skills needed to instigate tangible change within their communities. The program’s three main themes—Personal Development, Advocacy and Leadership in the Climate Change Sector, and Networking and Collaboration for Impact—ensure a well-rounded experience.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be young women or girls aged 16-29 from Ghana, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Egypt, Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, Madagascar, Tunisia, or Sierra Leone. This targeted selection aims to foster leadership among young women in regions critically affected by climate change.
Application process:
The application process involves creating a short video of up to three minutes. In this video, applicants should introduce themselves and discuss how they believe the program will benefit their personal and professional growth. This requirement allows the selection committee to gauge the applicants’ passion and potential for making an impact. APPLY HERE.
