APPLY: Applications open for Fully-Funded Konrad Adenauer Foundation-SAIIA Scholarships 2025

Applications are now open for the prestigious Konrad Adenauer Foundation-SAIIA Scholarships 2025, a fully-funded program designed to support postgraduate students in South Africa.

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), a German political foundation named after Germany’s first chancellor, offers these scholarships to promote democracy through education, dialogue, and training.

Benefits:
Successful applicants will receive comprehensive benefits, including full tuition coverage for a Master’s degree program and a monthly stipend to support living expenses and accommodation. The scholarship is particularly aimed at students pursuing degrees in International Relations, Development Studies, Political Science, Economics, Law, Journalism, or related fields within the Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines. The program also includes an internship component, where scholars gain practical experience working at SAIIA alongside their academic studies.

Eligibility:
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must apply for and be admitted into a Master’s program at one of the participating universities: the University of Cape Town, Stellenbosch University, or the University of the Western Cape. Additionally, applicants must meet the specific requirements for a Master’s degree at their chosen institution and should be no older than 30 years at the time of application. Importantly, students who have already completed the first year of their Master’s program are not eligible for this scholarship.

Application process:
Applicants are required to submit their applications online through the official scholarship portal. The application process includes providing evidence of admission to one of the participating universities, along with any other required documentation. Candidates should ensure that their applications are complete and submitted well before the deadline to avoid disqualification.

Applications deadline: September 21, 2024.
