APPLY: EducationUSA Opportunity Funds Programme

The EducationUSA Opportunity Funds Programme is a programme for deserving Nigerian students who need an opportunity to study in the U.S.

The programme will assist academically excellent, economically disadvantaged students to negotiate and finance the admissions process for colleges and universities in the United States.

EducationUSA OFP works closely with selected students through regularly scheduled meetings and seminars to assist them throughout the application process to secure admission and scholarships for colleges and universities in the United States.

Opportunity Funds finances all costs of the application process, including registration fees for required standardised examinations and provides free membership to our EducationUSA Center.

Eligibility criteria

1. Excellent academic records (‘A’ average or above 80% on transcripts) (lf a WASSCE result is available, must have only A’s and B’s)

2. Proven leadership positions and participation in extracurricular activities

3. Demonstrated financial need (inability to finance studies in the U.S.)

4. An ethos of giving back (community service and helping others)

Undergraduate applicants: submit a WASSCE result from 2023 or 2024.

Graduate applicants with a first class will be given preference.

Application procedure and deadline

Applications can be completed through the online portal. Application deadline is March 31, 2024.
