APPLY: GIZ-SAIS 2025 Investment Readiness Programme for African Agtech Start-ups

Applications are open for the 2025 SAIS Investment Readiness Programme (IRP), a comprehensive, year-long initiative designed to support African tech start-ups in agriculture, livestock, food, and climate sectors.

This programme offers selected companies a tailor-made development experience, helping them scale and grow their businesses with expert guidance and resources.

Benefits:
Participants in the programme will gain access to benefits valued at up to 35,000 EUR. These include mentorship and coaching from both local and international experts, tailored to the unique needs of each start-up. The programme also offers additional services and technical resources to optimize various aspects of the business, such as legal advice, online marketing, and digital product optimization. Individual training sessions covering topics like pitch training, growth strategies, and data management will also be provided.

Eligibility:
To be eligible for the SAIS IRP, start-ups must meet specific criteria. Companies must be registered in Africa, operate as for-profit entities, and have a minimum viable product. Additionally, they should offer digital or tech-enabled solutions within the agriculture, food, or livestock value chains, have a management team of at least two people, and demonstrate evidence of traction, such as paying customers or initial revenue. The start-ups should also contribute to climate change adaptation, income generation, and/or food and nutrition security.

Application process:
The application process requires interested start-ups to submit their details via the official SAIS webpage. Applicants should ensure they provide all necessary documentation to support their eligibility and demonstrate their business’s potential impact in the agtech sector.
