APPLY: WACSI opens applications for 2024 Next Generation Technology Internship Programme

The West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) has announced the opening of applications for the 2024 Next Generation Technology Internship Programme.

The six-month programme, running from August 2024 to January 2025, seeks to enhance participants’ skills in utilizing technology to support civil society initiatives.

Eligibility:
Applicants must meet several criteria to be considered for the programme. Candidates should hold at least a first degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or related fields. A strong commitment to WACSI’s vision and values, along with demonstrated interest in civil society, is essential. Other requirements include technical, writing, and communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of cloud computing tools; and experience in digital marketing and data analysis. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a multicultural environment are also necessary.

Programme requirements:
Selected interns from Nigeria will work primarily at the WACSI office in Abuja, while those from Ghana will be based in Accra. The internship period spans from August 2024 to January 2025. Interns are expected to produce a practicum and end-of-internship reports, as well as a technology action plan for implementation within West Africa’s civil society sector. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply to promote gender diversity within the programme.

The application process involves submitting a comprehensive application form detailing the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and motivation for joining the programme. Applicants should ensure that they meet all eligibility criteria and are prepared to engage fully with the internship’s duties and deliverables.
