APPLY: Woodrow Wilson International Center Fellowship Program

The Woodrow Wilson International Center Fellowship Program for the 2025-2026 has announced an application for international competition, offers 9-month residential fellowships to scholars, practitioners, journalists, and public intellectuals.

Each year, approximately 15-20 fellows are selected, providing them the opportunity to engage in advanced research and interact with policymakers in Washington, D.C. Fellows will be affiliated with one or more of the Wilson Center’s programs or projects.

Benefits:
The fellowship program offers a generous stipend of $90,000 for the nine-month period. Fellows are expected to cover their own health insurance and travel expenses. This fellowship is designed to foster an environment of intellectual exchange among fellows and with policymakers, Wilson Center staff, and other scholars working on similar issues.

Eligibility:
The program is open to citizens or permanent residents of any country. Applicants from outside the United States must hold a valid passport and be able to obtain a J-1 visa. Academic candidates should be at the postdoctoral level and have published a book or monograph beyond their Ph.D. dissertation. Practitioners and policymakers must demonstrate an equivalent level of professional achievement. Proficiency in English is required to ensure effective communication and exchange of ideas among fellows.
