The Bauchi State Government has declared that the Basic Education Certificate Examination is now compulsory for all students in both public and private schools across the state.
This notification was contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the state Ministry of Education, Jalaludeen Usman, on Wednesday.
According to Usman, the directive was aimed at ensuring that every student completing the basic education obtained the required certification to support their future academic pursuits.
He explained further via the statement that “The state ministry of education underscores that the BECE certificate serves as a vital qualification for admission into senior secondary schools and other higher institutions of learning.
“Ensuring students obtain this certificate will strengthen their academic foundation and prepare them for the next stage of their educational journey.
“This policy is part of the Bauchi State government’s broader efforts under the leadership of Gov. Bala Mohammed to improve the quality of education.
“It’s also to empower young people with the credentials and skills they need for long-term academic and professional success.”
Usman thus called on all parents, guardians, and school administrators to ensure that all eligible students were duly registered and participated in the examinations.
