The members of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) have embarked on a collaborative effort with the Executive Chairman, Dr. Grace Adagba, to usher in a new era of sustainable growth and development within the sector.
Addressing the media in Makurdi, Prince Andy Uwouku, representing ‘Zone B’ on the Board, emphasized the collective resolve of the members to work in unison with the Chairman to drive meaningful change.
He refuted claims of unilateral decision-making by the Executive Chairman, asserting that since their inception on December 15, 2023, the Board has functioned as a cohesive unit, with regular meetings and shared decision-making processes.
The ongoing automation of the teachers’ payroll system and the comprehensive renovation of facilities underscore the Board’s commitment to transparency and efficiency.
Prince Andy Uwouku highlighted that these initiatives have received unanimous approval from the Board, demonstrating a concerted effort towards inclusive governance.
Echoing Uwouku’s sentiments, Dr. Joseph Jande, the Board Secretary, underscored the importance of synergy among members in fostering innovation and achieving tangible results.
He emphasized that the Chairman actively seeks input from all Board members, ensuring a collaborative approach to governance that acknowledges the contributions of each member.
Paul Ebe, representing ‘Zone A’ on the Board, expressed optimism regarding the automation of the teachers’ payroll system, foreseeing an end to past challenges such as salary deductions without justification. He emphasized that this initiative would enhance accountability and streamline salary payments, thus alleviating concerns among teachers.
