Breaking: Court Orders Reinstatement of UI Lecturer, Dr Oladoyin Odebowale, after Years of Legal Battle

A Classics lecturer at the University of Ibadan, Dr Oladoyin Odebowale, has won the legal battle against the institution.

The National Industrial Court (NIC) sitting in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State, ordered the immediate reinstatement of Odebowale.

While confirming the reinstatement via his Facebook page on Thursday November 18, 2021, Oladoyin appreciated the judge for his industry.

Odebowale, who is currently the Senior Special Assistant, Special Duties & Strategy to the Ondo State Governor, was suspended by the administration of Idowu Olayinka. He was suspended following his intense irritation at the rampant cases of plagiarism among lecturers and students of the institution.

“I received a call from Rasheedat Akinrinde, one of my lawyers in the case against the decision of the Governing Council of UI to dismiss me from service for accusing some useless impostors of plagiarism and stealing,” he said.

Oladoyin added, “The Governing Council, acting on the promptings of Idowu Olayinka, the disgraced VC and his cohorts, asked me to apologise to thieves. I simply told the idiots to go to hell.

“The NIC, sitting in Ibadan, just ordered my immediate reinstatement as a lecturer in UI. I thank the judge for his industry. I thank Comrade Femi Aborisade, my Egbon, for his support. He did the case pro Bono. He took the fight as his.”

“I defeated tyranny for the fourth time,” he concluded.
