The Nigerian Private Universities have come together to contribute to global efforts by conducting a research on COVID-19 pandemic.
This was disclosed in statement signed by the President of Committee of Vice Chancellors of private universities in Nigeria, Prof Timothy Olagbemiro.
He said the decision was agreed upon in an online meeting of the committee which held recently.
Olagbemiro revealed that the universities across the country would leverage on their relevant resources to undertake the research.
He stressed that it would be for the benefit of the Nigerian populace and the world as a whole.
“The financial assistance is also needed to equip the laboratories, classrooms and offices with advanced technology. That will enhance the teaching and learning environment for the staff and students based on the needs of individual private university,” he stated.
