Dr. Tola Salau has officially assumed duties as the Special Adviser on STEMM Education and Corporate Sector Engagement to Nigeria’s Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, CON.
In a statement, Dr. Salau expressed enthusiasm for the role, describing it as an opportunity to champion equitable access to quality education through Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine (STEMM).
“Last week, I officially assumed duties as the Special Adviser on STEMM Education and Corporate Sector Engagement to the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, CON,” she announced. “This week, I hit the ground running with my first official outing alongside the Minister at the inauguration of the Governing Council and Principal Officers of the Federal University of Environment and Technology, Koroma/Saakpenwa, Rivers State.”
Salau vowed to “complement the Federal Government’s commitment to equitable access to quality education, through STEMM Education, and navigate technological challenges that shape our future.”
She outlined her mission as “to drive transformative STEMM policies, forge robust partnerships with the corporate sector, and create pathways that empower Nigerian students to compete and lead globally.”
Acknowledging the demands of her new responsibilities, she added: “The journey ahead demands vision, bold action, and relentless execution, and I am fully committed to delivering on all fronts. So, help me, Lord.”
Her appointment comes as the Federal Government intensifies efforts to improve STEMM capacity and foster innovation among Nigerian students.
