FG partners with Wowbii to integrate smart learning boards in Nigerian classrooms

The Federal Ministry of Education has announced its plans to integrate the Wowbii interactive board, a cutting-edge smart learning tool, into classrooms across the country. The revelation came during a presentation in Abuja on Friday, where the Unity School Old Students Association (USOSA) and Wowbii Technology showcased the potential of this innovative teaching aid.

Permanent Secretary Didi Walson-Jack expressed the ministry’s commitment to collaborating with Wowbii to extend this digital innovation not only to secondary schools but also to Colleges of Education (COE). She emphasized the transformative impact this move would have on teaching methodologies, stating, “Today marks the beginning of the digitization of all unity colleges and also the teachers.”

The integration of the Wowbii board is poised to revolutionize the educational landscape, providing a new dimension to digital interaction between teachers and students. Walson-Jack underscored the importance of proper training for teachers in utilizing the technology effectively, signaling a comprehensive effort to ensure the success of this initiative.

“This Wowbii board will mark the beginning of interaction with students by their teachers in a way that has never been before in Nigerian public schools,” she declared.

President of USOSA, Michael Magaji, voiced his support for the initiative, emphasizing the need to equip Nigerian children with the best education possible to compete globally. He sees the Wowbii board as a means of reinventing educational standards with technology, expressing hope for sustained collaboration with the ministry to enhance secondary education across the country.

Gbolahan Olayomi, the founder of Wowbii, highlighted the technology’s track record since its introduction in 2015. He mentioned its successful adoption by private schools nationwide, praising its scratch-proof design, security features, and embedded curriculum content. Olayomi affirmed that this technology would bridge educational gaps, enabling students from even the remotest villages to access the best in terms of technology.

As the Federal Ministry of Education takes this stride towards digitalizing classrooms, the integration of the Wowbii interactive board stands as a milestone in the journey towards a technologically advanced and globally competitive education system in Nigeria.
