In a heartening display of philanthropy, the Balarabe Goronyo Foundation, headquartered in Sokoto State, extended a benevolent hand on Friday by contributing 3,000 exercise books and 150 sets of uniforms to orphans and indigent students in the region.

Junaidu Aliyu-Balarabe, a representative of the family, conveyed the foundation’s elation in giving back to society.

He underscored the organisation mission to empower economically-disadvantaged pupils, facilitating their pursuit of education across all levels and fostering their potential to become valuable contributors to both their lives and society.

Aliyu-Balarabe highlighted the primary objective of the gesture, emphasising its role in preventing poverty from obstructing the educational journey of indigent and vulnerable students.

“Education is crucial for improving the socio-economic status of the citizens. Through this initiative, beneficiaries will be empowered to secure a bright future. Recognising that no nation can surpass the level of its educational system, our family is committed to supporting these pupils to get quality education,” he stated.

In addition to educational support, the foundation consistently conducts free medical outreaches for indigent patients in Sokoto and its environs.

Aliyu-Balarabe explained that during these medical outreach programmes, the foundation not only provides free drugs and medical supplies but also sponsors surgeries for patients with eye ailments.

Urging others to follow suit, Aliyu-Balarabe appealed to affluent individuals, families, and groups to emulate this gesture, emphasising its potential to fortify the education sector in the country.

The event, marked by generosity and goodwill, witnessed the distribution of school uniforms and educational items for less-privileged pupils. The foundation focused its efforts on areas such as Kofar Bai, Galadanci, parts of Gidadawa, and Kofar Rini in the Sokoto metropolis, ensuring that the impact of their philanthropy reaches those who need it the most.
