Fubara appoints new VC for Rivers varsity

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved the appointment of Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi, as the new Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt.

Fubara made this known in a special government announcement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

The two-paragraphed statement said the appointment takes immediate effect.

It reads, “His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, Governor of Rivers State, has approved the appointment of Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi, as the new Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt.

“The appointment takes immediate effect. ”

This came following the expiration of the tenure of the former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nlerum Okogbule, on March 5, 2025.
