FUNAAB student allegedly poisons girlfriend, friend

In a disturbing turn of events, a final-year student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), identified as Oladokun Ayomide, has been apprehended by the Ogun State Police for allegedly poisoning his girlfriend, Ugbokwe Mmasichukwu, and her friend, Odumosu Semilore, during a visit to his residence.

The shocking incident unfolded in the Surulere community of the Camp area in Abeokuta on Friday, sending shockwaves through the academic community.

Ayomide reportedly invited Mmasichukwu to his place, prompting her to bring along her schoolmate, Semilore. Little did they know that the visit would take a perilous turn.

The suspect allegedly served the unsuspecting victims a deadly concoction believed to be a mixture of brownie cakes, alcohol, and an unidentified harmful substance.

The aftermath was swift and severe, as both Mmasichukwu and Semilore lost consciousness immediately after consuming the toxic cake.

Quick action was taken to rush the victims to the hospital, where they are currently responding to treatment.

The Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident.

She stated, “The victims were believed to have been fed brownie cake, and they immediately lost consciousness after eating it and were taken to the Osiele Medical Centre for treatment.”

Upon investigation, a foil paper pack used for the brownie cake was discovered at the crime scene.

The suspect, Ayomide, was promptly handed over to the police by the Chief Security Officer of FUNAAB.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities are working diligently to unravel the circumstances that led to this shocking incident.

The motive behind Ayomide’s alleged poisoning of his girlfriend and her friend remains a critical aspect of the ongoing inquiry.

This harrowing incident serves as a stark reminder of the hidden dangers that can lurk behind seemingly innocent social gatherings.

The academic community is left in disbelief as it grapples with the startling revelation that a trusted peer may be responsible for such a heinous act. The story continues to evolve as the police delve deeper into this troubling case.
