Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has restated his administration’s commitment to providing inclusive and technology-driven education, as he hosted the 3rd edition of the Gbemiga Abiodun Education Support Programme — an initiative established in honour of his late son, Gbemiga Abiodun.
The governor described the programme as a lasting legacy that reflects Gbemiga’s compassion, intellect, and passion for empowering others through learning.
Since its inception, the initiative has provided scholarships, bursaries, and educational materials to hundreds of students across Ogun State. The number of beneficiaries has grown steadily — from 550 in 2023 to about 900 in 2025 — with over ₦79 million disbursed to alleviate the financial burden on deserving learners.
Governor Abiodun emphasized that the programme aligns with his administration’s broader educational agenda, which includes transformative initiatives such as OGSERA (Ogun State Education Revitalisation Agenda) and DiPER (Digital Infrastructure for Primary Education Reform).
“As a government, we are determined to ensure that every child in Ogun State has access to quality education, powered by innovation and technology,” he said. “As a family, we are equally committed to keeping Gbemiga’s vision alive — transforming grief into growth and ensuring his light continues to inspire others.”
The governor expressed appreciation to the Gbemiga Abiodun Foundation, the Ministry of Education, and other partners for their continuous support in sustaining the noble cause.
He concluded by reaffirming his belief that “empowering young minds remains the surest path to building a brighter, greater Ogun State.”
