Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has hosted a dinner banquet for the 137 schoolchildren from Kuriga who were recently released from captivity. The children had endured a harrowing two-week ordeal in the hands of bandits before being freed and entrusted to the care of the Kaduna State Government.

Governor Sani conveyed his involvement in the event through a post on his verified Facebook page, where he shared his experience of dining with the released schoolchildren. He noted their resilience and eagerness to resume their education, emphasising the government’s commitment to ensuring their physical and psychological well-being.

Expressing the government’s dedication to providing comprehensive support, Governor Sani highlighted efforts to offer the children top-notch medical care and psychosocial counselling. He emphasised that their reintegration into society and return to their families would occur only once they were deemed to be in optimal physical and mental health.

The governor’s proactive engagement underscores the state’s commitment to the welfare and rehabilitation of these young survivors, reflecting a collective effort to address the aftermath of their traumatic experience and facilitate their transition back to normalcy.
