The Kano State Government has debunked viral social media claims that it plans to recruit 3,917 teachers under a purported “Kano State Government Basic Education Teachers Mapping and Recruitment Plan (2025–2028).”
In a statement released on Monday in Kano, the Director of Public Enlightenment at the State Ministry for Education, Balarabe Abdullahi, described the circulating report as “misleading and baseless.”
“The ministry wishes to inform the general public that it has not made any official announcement regarding teacher recruitment,”
Abdullahi clarified.
He emphasized that no directive or official statement had been issued by the ministry concerning any recruitment exercise, urging residents to disregard the false information.
“The public is warned against relying on unverified sources, particularly concerning sensitive issues like teacher’s recruitment,”
he added.
Abdullahi said the clarification became necessary to prevent confusion and misinformation among citizens, stressing that individuals should always confirm details from official government communication channels before taking any action.
The statement further reassured the public that the ministry remains committed to transparency, accountability, and effective communication regarding education policies and teacher engagement in Kano State.
