The Kogi State Government has dismissed recent reports suggesting the commencement of a teacher recruitment drive within the state civil service.

Contrary to claims circulating in certain media outlets, the Executive Chairman of Kogi State Science, Technical Education and Teaching Service Commission (STETSCOM), Cecilia Cook, released a statement on Monday clarifying the government’s stance on the matter.

Cook urged the public to disregard such misinformation, emphasizing that the government is not currently engaged in the recruitment of new teachers.

Addressing concerns of potential fraud, Cook cautioned against individuals seeking to exploit job seekers, stressing that the Commission is not conducting any teacher recruitment exercise for secondary schools at this time.

Furthermore, she appealed to the public to collaborate by providing any relevant information that could aid in identifying and apprehending those responsible for spreading false information, with the aim of holding them accountable for their actions.
