Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to his Special Adviser on Education, Dr. Adetola Salau, following her appointment as the Special Adviser on STEMM and Corporate Sector Engagement to the Minister of Education.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, on July 22, 2025, Governor AbdulRazaq described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Dr. Salau’s dedication and impact in the field of STEM education — a critical area encompassing Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine.
“We are proud of her modest contributions to our educational transformation in Kwara State, particularly in the area of STEM education. Her energy, team spirit, and expertise are some of her core assets. We are, indeed, glad to have her contribute to the education sector at a higher level,” the Governor stated.
He emphasized that the federal appointment reflects Dr. Salau’s enduring relevance, patriotism, and commitment to educational development, not only in Kwara State but across Nigeria and the African continent.
“We wish Dr. Adetola Salau more accomplishments as she joins the Federal Ministry of Education as the special adviser on STEMM and Corporate Sector Engagement to the Honourable Minister. Despite her leaving to the Federal Ministry of Education, we will continue to have robust interactions with the STEM expert,” he added.
Speaking about her appointment, Dr Salau said, “I am deeply honoured to have been appointed as Special Adviser on STEMM Education and Corporate Sector Engagement to Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Honourable Minister of Education, Nigeria.
“I extend my gratitude to the Honourable Minister for this incredible opportunity to contribute to our national education agenda and deepen innovation through strategic partnerships.
“To my two former principals—His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, and His Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State—thank you for believing in me and giving me platforms to serve, grow, and advance the cause of transformative education.
“Your leadership has inspired me, and your support has prepared me for this next chapter of national service.
“I remain committed to building a future where our young people thrive through access to quality STEMM education, innovation, and opportunity.
Dr. Salau, a native of Kwara State, was a cabinet-rank official in the AbdulRazaq administration before her elevation to the federal role. Her new position is expected to further advance national efforts in integrating STEMM education and fostering productive partnerships with the corporate sector.
