KWASU, JAMB resolve outstanding admissions

Kwara State Government has assisted the Kwara State University in the regularisation of 3,733 cases of outstanding admission with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.

The government also resolved the mobilisation of the graduating students of Medical Laboratory Science of the university for the National Youth Service Corps scheme.

The state Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr Alabi Afees-Abolore, disclosed this in a press statement issued by the Press Secretary of the ministry, Mansurat Amuda-kannike.

Recall that some students recently protested their non-mobilisation for the NYSC scheme several years after graduation.

The commissioner said that the mobilisation of MLS students for the NYSC followed an amicable resolution of the rift on regularisation and mobilisation for the NYSC scheme between the Kwara State Government and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.

“Following this amicable resolution, all final year students of the faculty of law of the university have similarly been assured of being enlisted for the Nigerian Law School programme for the 2023 contact session,” he said.

The commissioner, however, called on other state-owned tertiary institutions for simultaneous synergy with the Ministry of Tertiary Education to aid swift intervention on sensitive matters.
