The immediate past Head Boy of Landmark College, Ikorodu, Oyefolaranmi Oworu, is celebrating a remarkable academic achievement, having secured nine distinctions in the recently released 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results.
Fola, who has also recorded success in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), expressed monumental joy and appreciation to the college for the role it played in laying the foundation for his academic excellence.
In a heartfelt message titled “Appreciation Message,” Fola wrote: “Forever grateful to Landmark College for being the solid foundation behind my WASSCE & UTME success. I just want to use this opportunity to say a big thank you to the entire management and teachers of Landmark College. God bless you all for your hard work, patience, and dedication.”
Reflecting on his academic journey, he noted: “Throughout my time in school, especially during our preparation for WASSCE and UTME, you gave your best. You didn’t just teach us, you carried us along like your own children. From the extra classes to the constant encouragement—and even the discipline (which we didn’t always like then but now we understand)—everything played a role in my success. I’m truly grateful. You laid the foundation that helped me do well, and I’ll forever be proud to say I passed through Landmark College.”

Fola also used the opportunity to share powerful advice with the current SS3 students, urging them to take their preparation seriously.
He advised, “To my juniors in SS3: start early, stay focused, and pray hard. WASSCE & UTME are not for vibes—prepare well and avoid distractions.
Let me just tell you the truth: this journey is not easy, but it’s very possible. Please don’t joke with your time. Make your books your best friends. Past questions should be part of your daily routine. Even when you’re tired, try to revise every day—even if it’s just one subject.”
He continued with strong encouragement on discipline and faith.
“Also, take your teachers seriously—they know what they’re doing. Ask questions, attend classes, and don’t feel too big to learn. Put distractions aside, especially negative peer pressure.
Make your books your best friend now. The sacrifice is worth it.
Most importantly, pray and put God first. He will crown your efforts with success, but you must also play your part.

“I believe in you all—you’ve got this! And I know you can do even better. I wish you the very best. May God see you through.”
Fola Oworu’s stellar achievement and his message of gratitude and motivation have further reinforced Landmark College commitment to nurturing excellence.
