The Lagos State University in Ojo made this announcement during a press conference held by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello. Yusuf achieved a remarkable CGPA of 5.00, earning a First Class Honours degree.
Olatunji-Bello mentioned that the upcoming convocation would commemorate the institution’s 40th anniversary, having been established in 1983.
Olatunji-Bello also revealed that Divine Lopez from the Department of Physiology at the Lagos State University College of Medicine was the best graduate of the 2020/2021 academic session, achieving a CGPA of 4.91 and also receiving a First Class Honours degree.
In addition to the celebrations, a convocation lecture titled “The impact of digitisation on higher education in the digital age” is scheduled for June 20, 2023. The lecture will be delivered by Mr Sonny Echono, the Executive Secretary of Trust Fund.
Eight distinguished individuals will be awarded honorary doctorate degrees. These recipients include former Governor Babatunde Fashola, Oba Alayeluwa Ademola Elegushi, Daniel Olukoya, Kayode Fayemi, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Oba Suleiman Ashade, and Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.
