LASUBEB Concludes Teachers Training in EKOEXCEL

The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board has concluded the phase III of EKOEXCEL training programme for teachers.

The training is aimed at bridging the gap in delivering quality education, through the use of technology devices in Public Primary School pedagogy.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony at Vetland Primary School Agege and CMS Primary School Bariga, the Executive Chairman, LASUBEB, Hon. Wahab Alawiye-King, explained that the integration and infusion of technology into the basic education system will not only promote efficiency but also improve learning outcomes in classrooms.

He explained that over 14,000 teachers have been empowered under the EKOEXCEL initiative of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Alawiye-King added that the use of tablets in classrooms would improve teachers professionally and also make them globally competitive.

“It is a logical approach, introduced to make our classroom more engaging and interactive,” he said.

Alawiye-King maintained that the initiative was structured to instill discipline, actively engage pupils in classroom activities and also explore the affective domain of teaching and learning.

“It is a total departure from the traditional way of teaching, it is about inculcating right values in our Schools” he added.

He charged the teachers to go back to the classroom with a renewed energy and explore other boundless possibilities in teaching and learning.
