Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) is set to host the maiden edition of the ÀGBẸ́ LÓBÁ Festival, a celebration of farming excellence, research breakthroughs, and enterprise.
Scheduled to take place at the university’s Iseyin campus, the festival — which translates to “Farmer is King” — is a collaborative effort between LAUTECH and the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Oyo State Governor on Project Delivery. It is poised to become a key platform for promoting sustainable agriculture and indigenous innovation.
“This festival is more than a celebration. It’s a call to action for the youth, researchers, and policymakers to reimagine agriculture as a driver of national growth,” said one of the event organizers.
The ÀGBẸ́ LÓBÁ Festival will feature exhibitions of cutting-edge agricultural research, locally made products, and cultural showcases from LAUTECH students, alumni, and community innovators. It also aims to strengthen ties between academia, government, and industry, fostering collaborations that could drive food security and economic resilience in Oyo State and beyond.
Among the high-profile guests expected at the event are the Executive Governor of Oyo State, traditional rulers, top government officials, LAUTECH alumni, and key stakeholders from Iseyin. The Aseyin of Iseyin will serve as the Royal Father of the Day, lending traditional weight to a forward-looking initiative.
The festival’s planning and execution are being handled by Hertz Universe PR, a top-tier public relations firm, promising a professionally curated experience that blends excellence with community engagement.
