Some of the materials include textbooks, writing and instructional materials, laptop computers, projectors, notebooks, mathematical sets, set of chairs and desks and other instructional materials.

No fewer than 100 pupils of various secondary schools in the Ondo East and Ondo West Local Government Areas of the state benefited from the philanthropic gesture.

Distributing the materials to the beneficiaries in Ondo town, Ondo State, Makinde, who represents the Ondo/East Ondo West Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, said educating the young ones was his top priority.

According to the lawmaker, investment in education is not a waste at any point as it remains the only way to liberate a country as a tool for nation-building.

Makinde said, “No investment is ever too much to place on education as it brings the greatest profit to the nation at large.

“We owe it to the younger generations to ensure that the quality of education and also its accessibility is guaranteed to every citizen because as we achieve that, we are not only securing their futures, we are also safeguarding the future of our state and our nation Nigeria by extension.”

The lawmaker urged well-meaning citizens of the state to rise up to the challenge and ensure that they invested, no matter how little, into educating the brains and minds of the younger ones.
