Livingstone College Teachers Beg for Payment of 9-Month Outstanding Salary

The teachers of Livingstone College, Lagos State, have cried out for the payment of their outstanding 9-month salary.

While disclosing this during a protest held at one of the college annexes in Lagos, the teachers stated that the school owes its teachers 5-month salary before the closure of schools following the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

The teachers added that since the closure of schools across the school, the school management has neglected them.

Some of the teachers complained that it has been difficult them to feed their families, pay house rent and even cater for their elderly parents.

“It is because of the love we have for the students and the passion for teaching as a profession. We are tired of enduring, but it is becoming unbearable coupled with COVID-19 pandemic,” one of the teachers said.

They pleaded with the school owner, Dr. Kolawole Christwealth, to pay their outstanding salary so that they can resume with their colleagues when schools eventually reopen.

The teachers also stated that all avenues to get the attention of the school management have proved abortive.

They seek the intervention of the stakeholders, parents and Ministry of Education.

Livingstone College is one of the reputable schools in Nigeria with its alumni found in every sector of the economy.

It was founded by Dr. Kolawole Olusola Christwealth, who is an educationist and a successful enterprenuer.

Currently, Livingstone College has over 36 annexes with staff across Lagos and Ogun States.
