The Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) has graduated its 2024/2025 Fellows and formally inducted the new 2025/2026 Cohort, reaffirming its role as a breeding ground for transformational leaders in Nigeria.
The colourful Graduation and Induction Ceremony, held on Friday at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Ikeja GRA, attracted dignitaries from government, the private sector, and civil society.
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, who attended as Chief Host, reiterated his administration’s commitment to leadership development and youth empowerment.
He commended the graduating Fellows for their year of service and innovation, stressing that the Academy continues to shape leaders capable of tackling governance and societal challenges.
Sanwo-Olu also congratulated the incoming Fellows, urging them to seize the opportunities ahead with discipline, vision, and commitment to excellence.
Highlights of the ceremony included the presentation of certificates of completion to graduating Fellows, the formal induction of the new cohort, and the recognition of outstanding Fellows of the 2024/2025 class.
The Academy also honoured supportive Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and strategic partners for their contributions to the programme.
Graduating Fellows shared emotional reflections on their year-long journey, underscoring the personal and professional growth achieved through placements and projects. They also launched a book titled “The Torchbearers: Rethinking Nigeria’s Future Together”, an anthology of leadership essays that documents their experiences while offering insights on leadership, policy, and service in Nigeria.
In her remarks, Mrs. Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade, Executive Secretary of LJLA, lauded the resilience and impact of the graduating class and warmly welcomed the new Fellows into what she described as a “life-changing journey of leadership, service, and innovation.”
The ceremony further cemented LJLA’s reputation as a hub for nurturing the next generation of transformational leaders.
